Every month I receive a list of new books available to read for free on the premise that I write and publish a review. Since there’s no Faith Crafter to publish this month I chose not to request any book, but a week ago I felt the need for something to read on the train when commuting for work, so I went back and chose to start reading “A Peculiar Glory” written by John Piper. After all, what’s not to like about John Piper? He is one of my favorite writers / preachers and has an easy and understandable language, especially important for me who have English as a second language.
The first sentence of the book is an question; Is the Bible true? This question made me stop reading and start thinking, well, yes of course it is. But the more I read, the more I realised that I had a lot to learn about how I look at and read the Bible. Even though I have not had time to read the whole book, before writing this, I’m rapt, this book is incredible, I can only say a big THANK YOU to John Piper who wrote one of the best books I’ve read, besides the Bible of course.
Now, at least I eagerly awaits part two of “The Peculiar Glory”.
