The last couples of weeks I have had a “thing” nagging in my heart and while writing today’s blog post I begun to write about my intentions for Faith Crafter back when I started on this faith journey. I believe that the “thing” nagging is all about that I now am headed towards something that I never intended for Faith Crafter.
My intention with Faith Crafter has never been to highlight myself and for you to understand my mission I would like to share some of my story with you. The thought behind Faith Crafter was and will always be to connect people, build bridges, share stories and highlight all the amazing faith artists both known and uprising stars. I am so grateful for all of the amazing people I have meet so far and to all of you who have helped me to develop Faith Crafter Magazine, THANK YOU!
I have always been a creative person who have had a great love for making things with my two hands, this is especially true when it comes to paper crafting and colors. I think that growing up in a print shop may have had something to do with this.
When God found me and put me on safe ground again, ten years ago, my life made a sharp u-turn and ever since,
my life has changed tremendously. Today I am grateful for every day that I am given, each day is a gift, an exciting adventure to live my life to the fullest and make the most of my Godly given gifts.
In my life there has been a lot of sorrows and traumas, as well as love and joy. When I grew up I had Jesus as my “secret friend” and He helped me through many days. When I became a teenager I started to stray away from my faith and Jesus. By the time I turned twenty I had a good job but my spare time was all about alcohol. When I was 23 i felt that my life was over and I tried to end it, but in the end of that day I choose to live. Ever since that moment that I chose life I put up a life goal; to live my life the best I could and find a way to deal with my sorrow and anxiety.
Two years later I meet the love of my life and he is still by my side, he is a real blessing and and a goodly given gift that i am thankful for every day. We also have been blessed with two wonderful kids who are now young adults and have started to live their lives away from home.
I have walked many of the paths of life to achieve my life goal, not every one of them has been that good, but today I cherish and accepted them all, as they have given me experiences that have been helpful in my strive to help others. To this today I have thirteen years of experiences of working with people with different kinds of disabilities.
Ten years ago when God knocked on my door and sent an angel to my house in form of a new friend, my life changed and I got new and wonderful tools to deal with my traumas, sorrows and anxiety. In 2013 I was exhausted and my doctor put me on sicked leave for three months, but it took me another eleven month before I could begin to work again. This fourteen month was a blessing and during this time I grew a deeper friendship with God. It has been many tears, long walks, bible studies and prayer. After I started to work again I felt that something was missing in my life, even if I liked my work and I was appreciated, I felt in my heart that I had to take some steps in faith and start working towards a job where I can work full time for God.
Since I was saved I have had a longing in my heart to start out on a mission for God and the first step in faith was to start my blog, I have been writing about my Christian life journey since 2007, about joy, sorrow and all the amazing things God have done in my life. During my recovery I started to draw, paint and papercraft again and I then realised how much I had missed it over the years.
Faith Crafter is a result of many years of hard work, faith, love, prayers, laughter and tears. How I came up with the idéa to start a Christian magazine, is a question I have asked myself many times. My first job ever was on a local daily newspaper and I have always loved to read both books, magazines and comics. So when I started to pray for a Christian mission I poured out all of my experiences, dreams and wishes to God and in the end Faith Crafter was born.
So you see, Faith Crafter is more to me then just a magazine and since I started on this mission there has been a bumpy road filled with hard work, challenges, tears, frustration, lovley meetings and lots and lots of joy. My hope is that I one day can quit my ordinary day job to work full time to develop Faith Crafter to be the best it can be. I have taken this step in faith and I rely on God to lead the way, but I can’t do all of this alone, I need help in order to succeed on my mission and there is a lot of things, that everyone who likes Faith Crafter can do to help.
Tell us what your expectation are, what would you like to read about, is it merely art & craft or do you also want to read those testimonials stories, articles and interviews that we started out with?
This is a very important point to me as I am not making Faith Crafter for myself, I love to connect people, meet people and listen to their stories, I love art & craft but I am not the greatest of artists, I love to make things and to make Faith Crafter brings me a lot of joy and I am happy with just being, “Anna -the editor*” Please, send me your idéas.
